Thierry Andre is a professor of medical oncology at the Sorbonne University in Paris and Head of the Medical Oncology Department at the Saint Antoine Hospital, Assistance Publique Hopitaux de Paris, France, since 2011. Thierry Andre received his MD in 1991 and he was trained in medical oncology at the University of Paris. He is the Founder and Vice President of the GERCOR Group – a multidisciplinary oncology research group – where he leads the scientific committee.
Thierry Andre is the Past President and actual member of the scientific committee of the ARCAD foundation (Aide et Recherche en Cancérologie Digestive). He is a member of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), and the Adjuvant Colon Cancer Endpoints (ACCENT) group. He has served on the ASCO and ESMO educational committees. He is a member of INSERM (Unite Mixte de Recherche Scientifique 938, Centre de Recherche Saint-Antoine, Equipe Instabilité des Microsatellites et Cancer, Paris 75012, France).
Thierry Andres's main research interest is gastrointestinal malignancies. He is/was the principal investigator of many phases 1, 2, and 3 clinical trials evaluating the treatment of gastrointestinal malignancies. Andre’s main research interest is gastrointestinal malignancy. The main topics of research/publications are the treatment of colorectal cancer in adjuvant and metastatic situations and gastrointestinal cancers harboring microsatellite instability (MSI) / DNA mismatch repair deficiency (dMMR).
