Tessa Sundaram Cook MD, PhD, CIIP, FSIIM, FCPP

Dr. Tessa Sundaram Cook is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She divides her clinical practice between the Division of Cardiothoracic Imaging of the University of Pennsylvania Health System and the Department of Radiology of the Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Tessa's research interests include radiology informatics, radiation dose monitoring, advanced image processing, and radiology education. She is the principal developer of RADIANCE, a free, open-source dose monitoring software for CT, which was released worldwide in 2010. She is also the fellowship director for the new Penn Radiology Informatics Fellowship.

Tessa earned dual bachelor's degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University (JHU) in 1997, and a Master's in Biomedical Engineering from JHU in 1999. She completed her MD/PhD at the University of Pennsylvania Schools of Medicine and Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) in 2007, where she conducted her doctoral work in the Department of Bioengineering. She completed an internship in the Department of Medicine at Pennsylvania Hospital in 2008, a residency in the Department of Radiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 2012, and a fellowship in the Division of Cardiovascular Imaging in 2013.
