Dr. Teresa M. Darragh is a pathologist who sees patients in the Cytology Service and Dysplasia Clinic. She specializes in human papilloma virus (HPV) induced anogenital neoplasia, which includes cervical and anal cancer. She is involved in research investigating HPV-related anogenital tract disease in men and women. UCSF's team of experts has been fundamental in the recognition of anal HPV-related disease and the acceptance of anal cytology as a screening tool for HPV at-risk populations.

Darragh received an medical degree at Cornell University Medical College in New York. She completed a pathology residency, followed by fellowships in surgical pathology and cytopathology at UCSF. Darragh is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, Papanicolaou Society of Cytopathology, American Society of Cytopathology, American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ASCCP), and the College of American Pathologists. She has received numerous honors and awards, including ASCCP's Meritorious Award of Scientific Achievement. She is a professor of clinical pathology at UCSF.
