Dr. Tammie Christine Ferringer is Geisinger Medical Laboratory's section head and fellowship director of dermatopathology in Danville, Pennsylvania, where she completed her dermatology residency. She returned to Geisinger after completing her dermatopathology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina under Drs. John Maize and John Metcalf.

Before being elected President-Elect, Dr. Ferringer served as Secretary-Treasurer, Member-at-Large on the Board of Directors, and lent her expertise as a member and chair of multiple committees of the ASDP. She currently also serves on the executive committee of the American Board of Dermatology and the board of directors of the American Academy of Dermatology; as well as the program committee and visiting scholar committee chair of the International Society of Dermatopathology.

She has served on over 50 and chaired over 10, committees, task forces, and work groups of the American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Graduate Medical Education, American Board of Medical Examiners, Women’s Dermatologic Society, and American Board of Pathology. Her editorial roles have included Associate editor of Cutis and the editorial board of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.

She has directed or moderated over thirty courses or sessions and been invited speaker for more than 200 domestic and international lectures on a variety of topics, including clinicopathologic correlation, tropical and infectious disease, melanocytic lesions, adnexal tumors, and immunohistochemistry in over fifteen countries. Her current literary contributions include over 75 journal articles or textbook chapters, co-editor of a dermatopathology textbook, and co-author of an online and mobile dermatopathology application.
