Suzanne Mahon is a clinical nurse specialist whose areas of expertise include cancer risk assessment, hereditary cancer syndromes, and cancer prevention and early detection. She provides comprehensive cancer genetics education, counseling, support, and follow-up to individuals and families with known hereditary risk for developing cancer. Mahon is credentialed as an advanced practice nurse in genetics. 

Her research interests include compliance with recommendations for the early detection of cancer and adjustment to the diagnosis of hereditary cancer syndrome. Mahon is a clinical professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology, Oncology, and Cellular Therapy, at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. She holds memberships in the National Society of Genetic Counselors, the International Society of Nurses in Genetics, and the Oncology Nursing Society. A graduate of the Saint Louis University School of Nursing, Mahon has three daughters who have either completed or are enrolled in the program.
