Susan Dounce has more than 10 years of experience in the medical device and biopharmaceutical industries in various technical, commercial, and academic roles. Prior to joining Datwyler in 2012, Susan held the position of Adjunct Associate Professor at Temple University with research interests in optical characterization of drug transport through living cell membranes.
Susan has also spent 6 years in the fluoropolymer industry with W.L. Gore & Associates as a scientist and new business development associate working in the areas of protein purification and implantable medical devices. At Datwyler, Susan holds the position of Senior Manager Business Development & Innovation in which she is responsible for establishing strategic collaborations and driving market-focused product innovations. Susan’s technical specialties include biophysical surface science, optics and coatings. She holds a BS in Chemistry from the University of Rochester and a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania.
