Dr. Steven M. Falowski underwent his neurosurgical residency training at Thomas Jefferson University. He completed a functional neurosurgical and epilepsy fellowship at Rush University. His major focus in society and industry revolves around education, integration of specialties, research, and practice management. Roles included implementing and directing the resident-fellows section and mentorship program through NANS. He also serves as course director for the International Cadaver Workshops and for the American Society of Pain and Neuroscience.
He won the research award at the PAN Philadelphia Neurosurgical Conference in 2009 for his work dealing with DBS in a depression model and its effect on neuroplasticity. Publications and specialty interest deals with utilizing intra-operative neuromonitoring for the asleep placement of spinal cord stimulators, as well as developing new technologies/stimulation platforms.
Dr. Falowski has an established track record for establishing a nationally recognized functional neurosurgery program that included a Pain Center, Movement Disorder Center, and neuroscience research division.
