Steven M. Donn, M.D., Director of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, University of Michigan Medical Center. Dr. Donn was born in New York City and was raised in the New York Metropolitan Area. His undergraduate education was at the University of Michigan, where he received a B.A. degree in 1971, majoring in both Zoology and German Literature. He obtained his M.D. degree from Tulane University in New Orleans in 1974. He undertook training in General Pediatrics at the University of Vermont - Medical Center Hospital of Vermont from 1975-1978.

After completing fellowship training in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at the University of Michigan in 1980, Dr. Donn joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics. In 1984 he was promoted to Associate Professor and was named as the Medical Director of the Holden Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the University of Michigan Medical Center, a position he held until 2003. He has been a Professor since 1990 and has been the Director of the Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine since 1998.
