Steven J Lee MD is Chief of Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital and the Associate Director of the Nicholas Institute of Sports Medicine and Athletic Trauma (NISMAT) in New York City. He is a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon, a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and double fellowship trained in Hand/Upper Extremity Surgery as well as Sports Medicine.
Dr Lee grew up in northern New Jersey and was accepted into a highly competitive 6 years combined medical school program at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. He completed his internship and orthopedic residency at Stony Brook University Hospital, his Hand, and Upper Extremity Fellowship at NYU/Hospital for Joint Diseases and his second Fellowship in Sports Medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital.
Dr Lee has contributed widely to the medical literature and has over 50 publications and presentations at national meetings. He has numerous awards but is most proud of earning the Teacher of the Year award 3 times. He specializes in the treatment of complex disorders of the hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder, knee, foot and ankle.
