Steven C. Horii MD, FACR, FSIIM, FSPIE

Dr. Horii earned his medical degree at the New York University School of Medicine. He remained at NYU completing his radiology residency and a fellowship in abdominal radiology. After spending eight years on the N.Y.U. faculty, he left to join the Department of Radiology Georgetown University where he worked in both clinical radiology and as Clinical Director of the Image Management and Communications Systems Division. He joined the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center faculty in 1992 as Co-Director of the Medical Informatics Group and Professor of Radiology.

Dr. Horii was elected to Fellowship of the American College of Radiology, the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM, formerly SCAR), and the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE). Dr. Horii's clinical specialty is a diagnostic ultrasound and his research interests are in imaging informatics. He has served on the DICOM Standards Committee since its inception and remains a voting member.
