Shilajit Ghosh MBBS, FRCS, FRCS (CTh)

Mr. Shilajit Ghosh was appointed as a Thoracic surgeon at the University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust in 2007. His special interests are Minimal Access Surgery, chest wall surgery, and Airway surgery and interventions. He has been the Clinical Lead for Thoracic Surgery since 2010. He has been intricately involved in training and teaching and is currently the Training Programme Director for Cardiothoracic Surgery for the West Midlands Deanery, member of the Specialist Advisory Committee for CTh Surgery, and FRCS Part III Examiner. Mr. Shalajit Ghosh performs all types of thoracic procedures, with a special interest in lung cancer surgery, chest wall surgery, airway surgery, and minimal access surgery. Since his appointment at University Hospitals of North Midlands​ in May 2007, the unit has expanded rapidly to doing nearly 700 thoracic operations a year with results above the national average.
