Sara Whetsone is an obstetrician and gynecologist at UCSF's Mount Zion campus. She specializes in the care of underserved women, medical education, health disparities, workforce diversity, family planning, fibroids, patient-centered clinical care and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.
She is also a clinical instructor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences at the UCSF School of Medicine, as well as the assistant residency director in the obstetrics and gynecology department. Whetsone completed her B.A. in community health at Brown University in Providence, R.I., her medical degree at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn., and did her residency at UCSF.
