Sara Townsend CIC, MS-HQS

Sara Townsend, CIC, MS-HQS is an Infection Prevention Supervisor at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Sara has a Master’s Degree in Quality and Safety in Healthcare and a background in both secondary education and respiratory therapy. An active member of the Delaware Valley and Philadelphia APIC chapter, Sara has served on multiple committees and is currently an acting Director. She also is a member of the APIC Education Committee. Her special interests include infection prevention in ambulatory and procedural areas, CLABSI, C.diff, and cleaning of the patient environment. Sara is passionate about engaging teams to work together to share infection prevention strategies to improve healthcare outcomes.
