Sanoj Punnen MD

Dr. Sanoj Punnen is an expert in Urologic Oncology. He provides specialty care for patients with urologic malignancies including prostate, renal, bladder, and testes cancer. He utilizes both open and minimally-invasive procedures, including robotic surgery, to suit the individual needs of each patient. Dr. Punnen completed his Medical Degree at Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada and went on to complete a residency in Urology at the University of Toronto in Toronto, Canada. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Urologic Oncology at the University of California, San Francisco with a focus on robotic surgery. While there he also attained a Masters in Advanced Sciences in Clinical Research.
Dr. Punnen has conducted research on many aspects of urologic malignancy. He has an interest in cancer detection, risk-stratification, prognosis and bio-markers. He also has an interest in outcomes research focusing on both cancer control and quality of life outcomes. He has published several scientific articles on these topics and has presented his work at numerous meetings internationally. Dr. Punnen has a strong dedication to patient care and uses both his clinical and research experience to bring the most innovative care to meet the needs of each individual patient.
