Salvador González Rodríguez MD, PhD

Salvador González Rodríguez graduated from Medicine and Surgery in 1982 at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Malaga. Later on, he entered the Professorship of Medical-Surgical Dermatology and Venereology of the institution and carried out theoretical-practical teaching activities in his specialty. Afterwards, in 1990 he finished his PhD in Medicine at the same university. In March of 1993 he entered the Dermatology Department at the University of Boston, USA, where he received a postdoctoral training in Basic and Clinic Photobiology including lasers, diagnosis and treatment. During this time his stay was financed by Harvard University throughout University-Enterprise training scholarships. The first year in the Photobiology Unit and the following 18 months in the Wellman Photomedicine Center, both part of the Massachusetts General Hospital, University of Harvard, Boston.
After his period of fellow postdoctoral he was selected by the Education Committee of the University of Harvard to become part of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Harvard on the position of Assistant Professor of Dermatology, and Associate Biochemist of the Massachusetts General Hospital. During that time, he carried out academic and training functions in basic and clinical research. In 2000 he was promoted as Associate Professor of Dermatology at the same university: He hold this position until 2008, being also Visiting Professor from 2003 to 2008.
