Roxanne Cooper MD, CCFP

Dr. Roxanne Cooper is a family physician in Conception Bay South with a special interest in women’s health and currently offering regular weekly walk-in Pap Clinics at her Manuels clinic. As a member of the Cervical Screening Initiatives Regional Advisory Committee (CSI RAC) for the Avalon, Dr. Cooper is all too aware of the high numbers of women in rural communities who have not had their annual Pap over the past three years. In an effort to reach these under-screened women, Dr. Cooper has devised a plan to remove some of the known barriers to access and bring the service to them.

Dr. Cooper and her husband, Byron, a carpenter, have purchased a new 31-foot mobile trailer and have completed the renovations to convert recreation into a Mobile Pap Clinic with a waiting area and two examination rooms with gynecological beds. Dr. Cooper will continue in her regular practice at Long Pond Medical Clinic from Monday through Thursday, but will travel to various locations across the Avalon for Friday and Saturday Pap clinics.
