Roman Jaeschke MD, MSc, FRCPC

Prof. Roman Jaeschke, MD, MSc, FRCPC, is a distinguished physician-scientist and global authority in internal medicine, clinical epidemiology, and evidence-based medicine (EBM). He is a Professor in the Department of Medicine and the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada — a leading centre for research and education in evidence-based clinical practice. Dr. Jaeschke earned his medical degree from the Medical Academy in Kraków, Poland, followed by doctoral training in pharmacology at Heidelberg University in Germany and clinical specialty training in internal medicine at McMaster University. He also holds a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics.

An internationally recognized contributor to the development and dissemination of evidence-based medicine, Dr. Jaeschke has played a central role in shaping modern clinical practice guidelines and research methodology, including work with the GRADE approach.
