Rogelio Lopez-velez MD, PhD, DTM&H

Dr. Rogelio Lopez-Velez holds a Ph.D. in Medicine and is a specialist in Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, and Tropical Medicine. He is an Associate Professor at the School of Medicine, Universidad de Alcalá, and director of the Center for the Study of Tropical Diseases and Clinical Parasitology at Ramón y Cajal Hospital in Madrid. He is also an aid worker in several African countries and a witness to the transformations in health care assistance to immigrants in the last 25 years. He provides health care with an NGO and at a public hospital. He is the director of saludentreculturas, an organization pursuing immigrants' integration through health policies.
