Robert Eric GutmanMD
Robert E. Gutman, MD, is a board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist, National Center for Advanced Pelvic Surgery, MedStar Washington Hospital Center (MWHC). Dr. Gutman has subspecialty certification in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. In addition to his busy clinical practice, he maintains a faculty appointment as an associate professor in the departments of Urology and Obstetrics/Gynecology, Georgetown University School of Medicine.
Dr. Gutman serves on the editorial board of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, and he reviews manuscripts for a variety of gynecology, urogynecology, and urology journals. He is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and he is a member of the SGS and the American Urogynecologic Society. He frequently presents his work at meetings of medical professionals, on topics such as surgery for stress urinary incontinence and uterovaginal prolapse. At MedStar Montgomery Medical Center, he serves on the Peer Review Committee. At MWHC, he is a member of the Obstetrics/Gynecology Operating Room Committee.
Dr. Gutman's doctor of medicine degree is from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He completed an internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Brown University Women and Infants' Hospital and a fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at Johns Hopkins University.
