Dr. Robert A. Baldor is the Chair of the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Major responsibilities include oversight of the Department's Undergraduate and Graduate Educational Programs. He also serves as the Director of community-based Based Education for the medical school and the Director of Health Policy. Dr. Baldor is a graduate of the University of Vermont College of Medicine, and he completed his family practice internship and residency at Hahnemann Family Health Center in Worcester. Following three years with the Indian Health Service of New Mexico, he joined the faculty of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. 

Dr. Baldor has served as President of the Massachusetts Academy of Family Physicians. He has published and lectured on a wide variety of family medicine and educational topics. He authored the textbook Managed Care Made Simple, a co-editor for the 5 Minute Clinical Consult, a widely utilized primer on the basics of managed care, healthcare costs, and the evolving U.S., healthcare system. He recently completed editing the 5th Edition of Bratton's Family Medicine Board Review. 

Dr. Baldor's special medical interests include skin diseases, managed care, evidence-based medicine, and the care of persons with intellectual disabilities. Additionally, advancing quality primary care education from the medical student to the practicing physicians of particular interest. His personal interests include grape physiology and fermentation.
