Richard Eugene Ramsay, MD has recently joined the faculty at Ochsner Health System and is establishing a Comprehensive Epilepsy Center to serve the citizens of Louisiana. Prior to this, he was a professor of neurology and director of the International Center for Epilepsy at the University of Miami School of Medicine and clinical associate professor at Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

After receiving his BS and MD degrees from the University of Florida, Gainesville, Dr. Ramsay completed an internship in the Department of Surgery at Shands Teaching Hospital of the University of Florida, a fellowship in the Department of Neurology at Shands Teaching Hospital, and a fellowship in epilepsy and electroencephalography at the VA Medical Center in Gainesville. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Qualification in Electroencephalography.
