Dr Reginald F. Frye is Professor and Chair of the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. Prior to his current position, he was on faculty at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. He received a BS degree in Biology from Oglethorpe University, PharmD from Mercer University, and a PhD in Clinical Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Pittsburgh. The focus of his research is on identifying and understanding key factors that contribute to variability in drug response. In particular, he has focused on disease states (e.g. kidney and liver disease) and drug interactions that contribute to pharmacokinetic variability observed with many drugs and natural products.

He has published more than 100 research articles, reviews, or book chapters. He has served as principal or co-investigator on several grants funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other sources. Dr Frye serves currently on the Scientific Advisory Committee for the UF Clinical Translational Science Institute (CTSI) Clinical Research Center and the CTSI Advanced Post Graduate Program in Clinical Investigation Advisory Committee. He has served as an ad hoc member of multiple NIH study section panels and a member of the NIH, Center for Scientific Review, Risk, Prevention and Interventions for Addictions study section.
