Dr. Artal is professor and chairman of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Women's Health at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine in Tel-Aviv, Israel. He completed residencies at Beilinson Hospital in Israel and at Metro General Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. He continued his education with a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology with a subspecialty in Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
Dr. Artal has dedicated his medical career to optimizing maternal and fetal health. His special interests in the field of high-risk obstetrical care include medical and surgical complications in pregnancy, and a focus on lifestyle interventions to increase survival rates for mothers and children affected by high-risk complications such as obesity and diabetes.
