Ramanuj Mukherjee MBBS, MS, DNB, MNAMS, MRCS, FMAS

Dr. Ramanuj Mukherjee, MBBS, MS, DNB, MNAMS, MRCS, FMAS is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital. He completed his MBBS in 2000 from a medical college in Kolkata and his MS in General Surgery from the University College of Medicine, Kolkata where he passed with distinction and received a gold medal for being the university topper. He obtained his Fellowship in liver transplant & hepatobiliary surgery from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Delhi. He finished his senior residency in general surgery from AIIMS, Delhi, DNB from NBE (Delhi) in 2006, and MRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons, England. 

He is an examiner for undergraduates & post Graduates with West Bengal University of Health Sciences, an examiner for undergraduates with Manipur University and Jawaharlal Nehru medical college, an examiner for postgraduates with DNB/NBE for Focussed assessment test(FAT), an examiner for postgraduate mentor & co-guide for DNB. He is a member of the institutional scientific review board, RGkar medical college, associate editor & reviewer of the editorial board for the Indian journal of surgery, Springer, and also joint secretary for the West Bengal Association of Surgeons of India. He is a board member of the institutional scientific research board & ethics committee, Akure, and also has a major role in guiding, formulating & evaluating the postgraduate thesis. His special interests in the field of laparoscopy include “Energy sources in laparoscopy and newer energy devices”. His research activities include studies on “A search for potential tumor marker in saliva & urine for epithelial cancer in 2014, and “Role of MMP2 & MMP9 in the evaluation of epithelial cancer” in 2015. He is involved in the ICMR STS project “A study on Antibiotic prophylaxis”.
