Dr. Raj Narayan joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Wisconsin in October 2005. He earned his Doctor of Medicine at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, India in 1982. After graduating from medical school, Dr. Narayan completed his Ob-Gyn Residency in India and then moved to the United Kingdom for further training. After five years as a general Ob-Gyn, he completed a Clinical Research Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, in London, U.K. In the United States, Dr. Narayan has completed his residencies in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as Family Practice and is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as Family Medicine. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Narayan practiced as Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health for five years before joining the MCW faculty in 2005.
Dr. Narayan is interested and involved in resident education as well as medical student education. Before joining MCW, he was an Associate Program Director for the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee. He was the Director of Continuous Professional Curriculum of the Medical College of Wisconsin and is now currently the Associate Dean for Student Affairs for the School of Medicine MD Program.
Dr. Narayan believes in empowering women with knowledge and encourages them to make their own health care decisions. He sees his role as a facilitator in the process of health maintenance as well as healing.
Dr. Narayan’s practice includes general ob-gyn, reproductive endocrinology, infertility, and primary care. He performs robotic gynecologic surgery in addition to general obstetrics and gynecologic practice.
