Alexander Weingarten, MD, co-director has been practicing pain management since 1984, is Board Certified in Anesthesiology and has been elected as a fellow of the American Academy of Pain Medicine. In addition, he has met the requirements for the American Board of Anesthesiology subspecialty certification in Pain Management.
Dr. Weingarten engages in all modalities of pain management with expertise in implantable technologies (morphine pump and spinal cord stimulators), fluoroscopic guided needle placement, radiofrequency ablation, percutaneous laser discectomy and epidurals, and reflex sympathetic dystrophy. Dr. Weingarten is an attending anesthesiologist at Northwell Health at Syosset Hospital, Day-Op Center of Long Island and North Queens Surgical Center in Bayside.
He is a member of the anesthesia department of Nassau University Medical Center and trains resident physicians in pain management. Dr. Weingarten recently co-authored a chapter entitled “The Pathophysiology of Pain” as part of a text entitled Proving Pain and Suffering.
