Philippe Coubes MD, PhD

Professor Philippe Coubes, MD, PhD is head of the multidisciplinary team “Intractable brain pathology” which currently manages adult and pediatric patients in two separated units (Department of Neurosurgery - Montpellier University hospital - France). He is a director of the Research Unit on Movement and Behaviour Disorders (INSERM U 661- CNRS UMR5203). Montpellier's group has developed the use of DBS in many diseases associated with the dystonia-dyskinetic syndrome and/or behavioral disorders. He has especially contributed to the validation of MRI-guided stereotactic surgery under general anesthesia without MER.
