Peter W. Blumencranz MD, FACS

Dr. Peter Blumencranz is board certified in general surgery. He earned his Doctor of Medicine at Cornell University Medical College in New York, New York. Dr. Blumencranz continued his medical education by completing a surgical internship and residency at Cornell University Medical College. He then completed a surgical oncology fellowship from Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, New York. Dr. Blumencranz is actively involved in research trials and new technologies in the treatment of breast cancer and continues to treat patients with melanoma as well.

He is a former recipient of the Commission on Cancer’s Cancer Liaison Physician Outstanding Performance award. Dr. Blumencranz has lectured extensively across the United States and abroad and served on numerous expert panels. He has presented at major oncology conferences and published many articles in major medical journals and books. Dr. Blumencranz is a veteran of the United States Navy. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Surgery, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the Southeastern Surgical Congress and the Society of Surgical Oncology. He is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, American Society of Breast Diseases, American Society of Clinical Oncology and a field liaison physician for the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.
