Peter T. Dorsher MD

Dr. Peter Dorsher, MD has primary research interests in the application of ancient healing traditions, including acupuncture to modern health care through understanding their physiologic mechanisms. Clearly, modern traditions such as myofascial pain treatment are essentially limited rediscoveries of what ancient Chinese clinicians described 2000 years ago.

Dr. Dorsher's research aims to translate 5000 years of clinical knowledge into contemporary terminology to allow endogenous treatment of pain, physical disorders and psychological disorders. His research suggests the importance of the autonomic nervous system in chronic disease, and especially central sensitization syndromes such as fibromyalgia.
