Peter Barschdorff MBA, PhD
Peter Barschdorff is Vice President and Head of the newly created U.S. Commercial Insights function for Pharma and Vaccines, and member of GSK’s U.S. Commercial Leadership Team. In this capacity, Peter oversees capabilities such as Primary Market Research, Advanced Analytics and Forecasting, as well as Enterprise Data Strategy, Competitive Intelligence, and Commercial Reporting.
Signature output of the Commercial Insights function includes trend analyses, intelligence informing monthly financial estimates, analyses and recommendations pertaining to investment optimization across business units, and commercial data governance guidelines, as well as critical primary market research studies.
Peter has two decades of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including ten years with leading management consulting firms (including Deloitte, Capgemini), and more than three years leading the in-house consulting function for Bayer North America. Recent experience at Bayer includes responsibilities pertinent to the broader insights space, e.g., development of the product launch exchange (CoE) – contributing, most recently, to a best-in-class launch in Women’s’ Healthcare; leadership of the cross-BU annual U.S. brand planning cycle; leadership of the cross-divisional Customer Centricity initiative of Bayer Healthcare (U.S.); and chairmanship of Bayer’s cross-divisional U.S. Market Insights forum.
