Peter Aquilina PhD, MBBS, BDS, MS, FRACDS

Dr Peter Aquilina is qualified in both Medicine and Dentistry from the University of Sydney where he graduated with Honours in both degrees. He also has been awarded the degree of Master of Surgery (Head & Neck Surgery) from Sydney University. Dr Aquilina is a Visiting Medical Officer (Consultant Surgeon) at the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle and at Westmead Public Hospital. After finishing his undergraduate degrees, Dr Aquilina completed basic surgical training and 4 years of Advanced Surgical Training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. This culminated in the award of Fellowship in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery from the RACDS. He has undertaken additional subspecialty training in the United Kingdom in the areas of Head and Neck Cancer and facial trauma. His interests include minor oral surgery (Wisdom Teeth), dental implants, orthognathic surgery, facial trauma and oral cancer. Dr Aquilina regularly is invited to lecture internationally and actively trains junior doctors in oral & maxillofacial surgery.
