Dr. Peminda Cabandugama is from Colombo, Sri Lanka, but has been living, studying, and working in the US since 2003. He completed his undergraduate degree (BSc [Hons]) with a double major (Cell and Molecular Biology/Allied Health) and a minor (Biochemistry) at Winona State University in Winona, MN. He then went on to get an MD from St George's University, Grenada, West Indies.
Dr Cabandugama completed his residency in Internal Medicine (including a 4th year Chief Residency) at Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center in Brooklyn, NY. He then went on to do his fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the University of Missouri-Columbia in Columbia, MO. Dr Cabandugama is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, and Obesity Medicine. His interests are Weight Management and management of Diabetes Mellitus Type 2.
