• List the prevalence of obesity in transgender patients taking gender-affirming hormone therapy and summarize its impact on those individuals. Describe how to approach obesity treatment for transgender patients.
• Identify the various body composition changes that occur with weight loss.
• Summarize the recommended criteria to qualify for bariatric surgery from the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery guidelines.
