Paul Klintworth is a leader in healthcare delivery system reform and practice transformation at the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) in Washington, DC. ONC is a staff division within the Office of the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where Paul serves as a Public Health Analyst in the Office of Programs and Engagement (OPro). OPro is principally responsible for leading the national adoption of interoperable health IT through HITECH[1] programs, including implementing programs to support delivery system reform in states and communities.
Leading the ONC $1.7M funded Community Health Peer Learning Program[2], Paul will shepherd efforts to engage communities seeking to address population health challenges through a national collaborative peer learning approach. The program will seek communities able to galvanize partnerships, resources, and efforts supporting the development and implementation of an impactful, measureable, and actionable community work plan to improve the use of health information through data aggregation, data portability, and data analysis to address a self-identified population health challenge.
The two-year Community Health Peer Learning Program will focus on identifying outcomes that include data solutions, accelerating local progress, and disseminating best practices and in-depth learning guides to help inform national strategy around community-level population health challenges. Paul also serves as the Medical Home Community of Practice (CoP) lead within ONC and coordinates with over 40 regionally-focused and state-based Regional Extension Centers.
