Dr. Paul Binhammer is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Toronto. He graduated from the University of Toronto in 1986. He completed his residency in Plastic Surgery in 1992 at the University of Toronto. Dr. Binhammer did his fellowship training in hand surgery in Strasbourg, France and Salt Lake City, USA. Dr. Binhammer returned to University of Toronto and has focused on hand and wrist surgery and traumatic lower extremity reconstruction. While continuing to practice, he obtained an MSc in Clinical Epidemiology from McMaster University.

Dr. Binhammer has research interests in all aspects of hand surgery including, economics, biomechanics and patient outcomes. Dr. Binhammer has a strong commitment to education in hand surgery and has worked with national and international partners to improve hand education. He has developed and piloted programs to demonstrate and evaluate improved education. He is a member of the AO North America Hand Education Committee.
