Patricia M. Witcher MSN, RNC-OB

Patricia has more than 25 years of experience as a professional registered nurse and their expertise in high-risk and critical care obstetrics has formed the foundation for her skills in developing an education curriculum in obstetrics and initiating clinical initiatives directed at improving the care provided to women during pregnancy, labor and delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. She has lectured throughout the United States and has published in peer review nursing journals on intrapartum management, high-risk and critical care obstetrics, and fetal heart rate interpretation. Most recently, she has contributed as co-editor and author of AWHONN's High Risk and Critical Care Obstetrics, 4th edition. Her current interests and activities focus on patient safety and clinical quality initiatives in obstetrics, maternal morbidity and mortality, and obstetric risk management. She is an effective change agent in the hospital setting because of her ability to articulate and simplify complex issues and collaborate with colleagues from many disciplines.
