Park Sungha

Park clinical research interest focuses on clinical hypertension and preventive cardiology. In hypertension, his research interest is on out of office blood pressure monitoring, namely ambulatory blood pressure and the role of vascular biomarkers in predicting cardiovascular outcome in hypertensive patients. Also, he was interested in blood pressure targets in hypertensive subgroups with associated risk factors, such as diabetes and previous stroke.

He also interested in the target blood pressure that may be unique to the Asian-Pacific population. He currently conducting research on the risk that high risk occupation, such as firefighters and police officers, has on cardiovascular risk in hypertension.

His research interest in basic science focuses on the role of inflammation and aging on vascular smooth muscle cell function and how they mediate the transdifferentiation of vascular smooth muscle cells into foam cells during the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis.
