Dr. Niti Madan is an Associate Professor in the Division of Nephrology, Department of Medicine at the University of California Davis School of Medicine. She received her medical degree from Government Medical College, Patiala, Punjab, India. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Southern Illinois University, Springfield in 2004. Subsequently, she underwent Nephrology fellowship training at the University of Texas, Houston. Currently, she is working as faculty at the University of California Davis. She has a strong interest in hypertension, acute kidney injury, glomerulonephritis, onco-nephrology, and home dialysis. She is Medical Director for the Nephrology clinic and also for the dialysis clinic. She has close to 100 dialysis patients and is responsible for quality and safety, staff, and patient education. The clinical part of her work involves outpatient clinics, outreach clinics, and inpatient consult services. The teaching responsibilities are teaching medical students, residents, and fellows in outpatient and inpatient settings. She is also involved in teaching other specialties trainees, physician assistants, and nurse practitioner students. She has leadership responsibilities as Medical Director and part of the Department Leadership group. She is the author of articles in internationally published journals and book chapters.
