Nicholas E. Gilpin DO

Nicholas Gilpin, D.O., is the chief medical officer for Beaumont Hospital, Grosse Pointe, a 280‐bed community hospital that is part of Beaumont Health, Michigan’s largest health system based on inpatient admissions and net patient revenue. In this role, Dr. Gilpin oversees hospital performance and develops the vision and strategic plan for clinical activities in collaboration with hospital leadership. He was appointed as chief medical officer on Jan. 1, 2018, following seven years as medical director of Infection Control Beaumont Hospital, Grosse Pointe. Prior to that, he served as a chief fellow of Infectious Disease at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, 2010‐2011. Dr.Gilpin first came to Beaumont, Royal Oak as an infectious disease fellow in 2009. Before that, he completed an internship and residency at Providence Hospital in Southfield from 2006 to 2008, where he served as chief resident of internal medicine in 2008.

Dr. Gilpin is an assistant professor with the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. He joined the teaching staff of his alma mater, the Michigan StateUniversity College of Osteopathic Medicine, as an assistant professor in2013. His professional memberships include the American College of physicians, the American Medical Association, the Michigan InfectiousDisease Society, and the Infectious Disease Society of America. Dr. Gilpin earned his medical degree from Michigan State UniversityCollege of Osteopathic Medicine in 2006 and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Albion College in 2002.
