Dr. Naresha Saligrama is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Neurology and Pathology and Immunology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Dr. Saligrama completed his Veterinary degree and master’s degree in animal biochemistry from India. He graduated from The University of Vermont, Burlington Vermont. During his PhD, he worked on determining the genetic susceptibility to Multiple sclerosis. He also completed a very productive postdoctoral fellowship funded by National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS) in the laboratory of Dr. Mark M. Davis, a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator, Stanford University Stanford, California. His postdoctoral work mainly focused on developing newer tools to understand T cell responses in autoimmunity, cancer, and aging. At Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Saligrama’s laboratory is also part of The Bursky Center for Human Immunology and Immunotherapy Programs, The Hope Center for Neurological Disorders, and The Knight Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. Dr. Saligrama holds a Career transition award from NMSS and the current focus of his laboratory is to understand the adaptive immune response in neurogenerative and neuroinflammatory diseases using cutting-edge technologies.
