Nandor Ludvig MD, PhD

Nandor Ludvig received his M.D. degree from the University of Pecs Medical School, Hungary, in 1979, and his Ph.D in Neuroscience degree from the Hungarian Academy in Sciences in 1994. His postdoctoral training in the United States lasted from 1985 through 1992, at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, the University of California at Irvine, and University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. From 1993 through 2004, he worked as a Research Assistant Professor, and subsequently Research Associate Professor, at the Department of Physiology & Pharmacology, State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical Center. It was this institution where his research led him to invent a new drug delivery device implantable in the brain for otherwise treatment-resistant neurological and psychiatric disorders (US Patent No. 6,497,699). In 2004, he was appointed as Research Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology of New York University (NYU) School of Medicine, for the purpose of leading his team to complete the development of the antiepileptic version of my pharmacotherapeutic device.
