Nancy is a Nurse Practitioner and Teaching Associate in the Department of General Surgery at University of Washington Medical Center. Nancy earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Arizona. She later when on to earn a Masters of Nursing in Community Health/Transcultural Nursing and a Masters in Public Health, International Health at the University of Washington.

Several years later, she returned to the University of Washington and earned a post masters certificate in the adult nurse practitioner program. Nancy currently practices as a board-certified adult nurse practitioner. She is also an experienced certified wound and ostomy care nurse. Clinical interests include general surgery, ostomy care, wound care, patient education, and nursing research. Research interests include ostomy, fistula, surgery, and IBD.
