Murali Gopalakrishnan, PhD, MBA, is the Global Head of Neuroscience Search & Evaluation within the Corporate Strategy Office at AbbVie, where he leads strategic assessment and external innovation efforts to identify, evaluate, and advance novel neuroscience assets and partnerships. In this role, he works at the intersection of science, business strategy, and corporate development, guiding decisions across discovery, development, and commercialization to support AbbVie’s long-term neuroscience portfolio.

Murali holds a PhD in Pharmacology from the University at Buffalo and an MBA in Business Administration from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. With a strong foundation in pharmacology combined with advanced business training, he brings a rigorous, translational perspective to evaluating therapeutic opportunities, balancing scientific innovation with strategic and commercial considerations.
