Mita Shah Hoppenfeld, MD is an Assistant Professor within the Division of General Internal Medicine and the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Utah Hospital. As a hospitalist, she enjoys caring for patients with acute medical needs with high-quality, deliberate care. Additionally, her specific clinical interests include quality improvement, and investigating to further include diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in daily practice and medical education.

Dr. Hoppenfeld received her medical degree from Boston University and completed her medical internship at Massachusetts General Hospital, and her internal medicine residency at Stanford Hospital. In the past, she served as Chief Medical Resident at Stanford Hospital where she created and implemented their first resident focused diversity lecture series. She appreciates the opportunity and privilege of caring for patients in their time of need.
