In May 2016 she graduated with a PhD from Harvard University in Applied Math at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. She was fortunate to be co-advised for her PhD by Michael Brenner (Applied Math, Harvard University) and Erez Lieberman Aiden (Department of Molecular and Human Genetics, Baylor College of Medicine).

During her PhD she developed methods (algorithms and theory) for analyzing biological data, studying topics ranging from 3D genome folding to random matrix theory to self-assembly - you can read all about it in her PhD thesis. She did her undergraduate work at MIT where she earned a BSc in Physics in 2009 and did her undergraduate thesis on CVD-grown graphene with Ray Ashoori.
