Mikio Nishizawa MD, PhD

Dr. Mikio is a Molecular biologist and biochemist, working on the regulation of gene expression in mammalian cells, in particular natural antisense transcript-mediated regulation (NATRE) of mRNA stability. His interests are inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), and inflammatory cytokines and chemokines. Also investigating functions of low-MW drugs and Japanese herbal drugs, as well as functional foods, which control the above-mentioned genes.
