Mikaela M. Olsen, MS, APRN-CNS, AOCNS, FAAN, is a Clinical Nurse Specialist at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Ms. Olsen serves as adjunct faculty for the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing and the University Of Maryland School Of Nursing. Ms. Olsen received her Master of Science degree from the University of California at San Francisco in 1996 and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Maryland in 2019.

Ms. Olsen is the manager of the peripherally inserted central line catheter (PICC) team for the department of oncology, the chair of the Johns Hopkins Hospital Venous Access Device Committee, and chair of the CLABSI reduction subcommittee. Ms. Olsen is the lead editor for the ONS Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Guidelines and Recommendations for Practice (2019). Ms. Olsen has published and extensively presented on the topic of VAD evidence-based practice and CLABSI reduction.
