Michele Curatolo MD, PhD

Michele Curatolo, MD, PhD, is a physician at UW Medical Center - Montlake, director of the UW Medicine Interventional Pain Program, the UW Endowed Professor of Medical Education and Research, and a UW School of Medicine Professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. Dr. Curatolo provides individualized state-of-the-art care of acute and chronic pain, making the best use of the available evidence and his long-standing clinical experience.

He has been nominated multiple times as a Seattle Top Doctor in the field of pain medicine. Multiple grants from the National Institute of Health support Dr. Curatolo's research in the area of pain. Dr. Curatolo's primary clinical expertise lies in interventional pain procedures within the context of multimodal pain syndrome management. Dr. Curatolo earned his MD at the University of Messina, Italy, and his PhD at the University of Aalborg, Denmark. He has been awarded several prizes for his contribution to pain medicine and an honorary doctorate at the University of Aalborg, Denmark
