Dr. Michael W. Johansen is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine and a pediatric cardiologist specializing in the care of children with complex cardiovascular conditions.

A native of Wisconsin, Dr. Johansen earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University. He completed a combined residency in pediatrics and internal medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine, where he also pursued fellowship training in pediatric cardiology. Following his training, he served on the staff at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids before returning to Indiana University in 2014.

Dr. Johansen is board-certified in internal medicine, pediatrics, and pediatric cardiology. His subspecialty focus is pediatric pulmonary hypertension, and he serves as co-director of a multidisciplinary program dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, and research of pediatric pulmonary hypertension in collaboration with pediatric pulmonology.

His clinical expertise also includes comprehensive pediatric cardiology care and advanced cardiac imaging, contributing to improved outcomes for children with complex heart and pulmonary vascular diseases.
