Dr. Miloro, a native New Yorker, attended the University of Rochester in New York, and received his dental degree at Tufts University Dental School in Boston. He received his medical degree, General Surgery training, and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery certificate at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Dr. Miloro has held academic positions at The Ohio State University, University of Maryland at Baltimore, and University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Miloro is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a Faculty Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Miloro has research interests in neural regeneration, bone healing, implantology, distraction osteogenesis, and orthognathic surgery. He has lectured nationally and internationally on many subjects, including maxillofacial trauma, nerve repair, endoscopic-assisted maxillofacial surgery, and distraction osteogenesis of the maxillofacial skeleton.

He has published extensively in the medical and dental literature, has written many textbook chapters, is a manuscript reviewer for several major journals, and serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, and Endodontology, and he is an Editor of three major textbooks in the specialty, Peterson's Principles of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Management of Complications in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Trigeminal Nerve Injuries.
